What is Tailwind?
Tailwind is an automated social media tool. I use Tailwind to automate my posts to Pinterest, but they also provide a service for Instagram as well.
Automated pinning tools make it so that you don't have to spend hours manually clicking Pin on the pins you want to share on Pinterest.
Check out this post: A Manual Pinning Strategy Simplified!
If you didn't hear, BoardBooster (another automated pinning tool) shut down due to conflicts with Pinterest. If you used BoardBooster, like I did, you'll know that all your automation plans no longer exist.
With Tailwind, you won't need to worry about that, because they are an official partner of Pinterest. They work together and promote each other.
Tailwind is a paid service that starts off with a $14.99 monthly payment plan and goes up if you require more features. They also have an annual term plan that gives you a pretty sweet discount (4 months free). You just have to pay for the entire year up front, which is $119.00.

Tribes is a feature that is very similar to Group Boards on Pinterest. You join a tribe and post your pins to the Tribe. You also need to follow the rules for each Tribe or risk getting kicked out.
The typical rules are share as many pins as you post, stick to the topic, no spam and stay active (keep sharing). Unlike Group Boards on Pinterest, Tribe leaders can see your share frequencies and will act accordingly.
You can start your own Tribes and invite people to join. It's a fun experience, and it's nice to help others share their content!
How to Use Tailwind to Get More Pageviews
With Tailwind, you can post your blog post pins to Tribes as well as to Pinterest directly. I recommend you install the desktop extension on your computer to make it even more easy to pin from Tailwind.
When you hover your mouse over an image that you want to Pin, a Schedule button will pop up. This is the Tailwind Schedule button. You can click this button or the Tailwind extension on the top of your browser window to begin the scheduling process.
When the scheduler window pops up, click the Type a Board Name and select all the Pinterest Boards you would like this image to be pinned to. Don't worry, they won't all get pinned at the same time. Select as many as you like.
Tailwind schedules the image to each board at optimum times, depending on the traffic to your Pinterest account. You can also customize the times yourself.
After selecting which boards you want to pin the image to, make sure you have a Rich Pin description. You can have the title of the post as well as a snippet of the post - try the first paragraph. That one works for me.
Next, you can click Add to Tribes to select which Tribes you want to post to. This means that you can share this image to the Tailwind Tribes you are a part of so that other Tribe members can pin your image to their Pinterest Boards.
You can also set the custom time for the pin to be posted. If you are pinning to more than one board, you can use an custom interval time. This button will show if you have more than one board selected in the Type a Board Name box.
View your scheduled pins in the Tailwind Scheduled Pins window (click Publisher then Scheduled). You can add/remove time slots as well as edit your scheduled pins here. If you don't like the order of the pins, you can Shuffle the Queue in the top right corner.
Interacting with Tailwind Tribes
In your Tribes window, you can see all the Tribes that you're a part of as well as the ones you created. Here, you can manage the pins you want to share (pin to your Pinterest boards).
To share a pin, go to the pin you want to share, Type a Board Name (you can add as many as you like) and click Add to Queue. This will post to your Scheduled Pins calendar and be pinned at the scheduled time.
By planning your automation strategy and signing for Tribes and Group Boards, you can greatly increase your blog's pageviews, impressions and reach. Take a peak at my stats from using Tailwind Tribes (this is just Tribe stats).
So there you have my strategies on how to use Tailwind to get more pageviews to your blog. I hope you've found this useful in promoting your blog posts to a bigger audience.
