DIY LED Light Panel

Since moving to Texas, I've filmed and taken photos indoors, and with no windows in my office, I always use LED lighting.

I've made a DIY Ring Light and use this fixture for product shots and filming. Softboxes used to be raved about, and while they are quite useful photography tools, they are incredibly bulky and use lamps that get really hot.

LED light panels are the new rage - they're more space friendly and don't get too warm. However, they still take up quite a bit of space due to their stands. Today, I'm sharing a DIY LED Light Panel that doesn't take up any floor space at all and is very versatile. You can lie it down flat, stand it up, or hang it on the wall.

Why DIY LED Light Panel?

If you're looking for a lighting solution that saves space and isn't going to break the bank but still produces quality light, then making your own light panel or ring light is a good way to go. My LED light panel hangs on the wall when I'm filming or taking portrait shots. When I'm taking product shots or not using it, the panel sits nicely at the corner of my desk, taking up almost no space at all.

Pricing is another issue most of us bloggers and Youtubers face. We want good lighting, but buying a photo studio can really hurt our finances. An LED light panel can run you over $100 in expenses, but this project cost me $30. Yesss.
