Freepik Images

Last month, I discovered Freepik. In short, it's this site where you can download images for free, and there are paid options too.

  • Free Non-registered User: you don't register on the site. You can download up to 5 items or so a day. Linking and attribution required (you must give visible credit).
  • Free Registered User: registered on the site, and you can download up to 30 or so items a day. Linking and attribution required (you must give visible credit).
  • Paid User: Registered on the site on a payment plan (different ones available). Unlimited downloads. No linking or attribution required.

How to Use Freepik Images

I've only been using them a short while, and I'm pretty obsessed with the kind of images they have in stock.

There are layouts, stickers, graphics for Pinterest pin backgrounds, and so much more. I've already created a folder on my desktop to house all of my Freepik stuff. I have growing stash, and I'm not ashamed.

Here's a little tutorial on how to use it - it's super easy, and I'm just saying... try not to go too crazy ya'll.

This is a search for "stickers". Right-Click the one you want to download and choose open in new tab. You'll want to keep searching for more, cause you can't help yourself. It's too cool.

Click again. This shows you how to credit the author of the image wherever you use it if you're posting it online. When you download the file, unzip it and check out the files in the folder. You'll see your images and attribution/crediting rules.

What Sticker Paper is Best?

For my stickers, I like to use these matte sticker sheets for stickers I want to write on (layouts, tabs).

When I'm making stickers that look like stickers, I like to use these - you can choose different colors, finishes and printer ink type (laser/inkjet). I have the glossy white and matte gold sheets.

I don't have a Cricut or anything like that, so I cut all of my stickers out by hand. I don't mind it. It's actually pretty relaxing. If you're not down for cutting and can afford to invest in a cutting machine, I say go for it.

You can also use pre-cut labels as stickers from the office store. There are so many different options to choose from, and it's super quick to just peel and stick.

Freepik Terms of Use

I must share this important piece of information regarding using Freepik images. Yes, it's free, but you must follow their rules. Always provide attribution if you use the images online. It's not hard or sketchy to give credit where credit is due.

You can print and sell your creations, edited or otherwise, as long as you provide attribution somewhere. Check the terms for more information.

They make it super easy to get started on your creative journey, but you gotta respect the artists.

So there you go - my super quick and easy DIY for planner stickers and layouts. Get creating!
